With 25 years of experience of building conversation-building tools that are used by human service practitioners in over 30 countries Metaphors Ink plans to continue to publish original card sets and other materials that invite people to ‘find and use their voice’ in an empowering way.
As a social work publisher Russell has been called ‘A Master of Metaphors’. He has pioneered the application of visual metaphors into a wide range of human service domains – counselling, family work, group work and community building. Hands-on materials that are built around visual metaphors have the potential to take conversations into different places than words alone often allow. Visual metaphors can contain powerful prompts to facilitate change and growth in important conversations in many different settings.
But he is surrounded by associates who lend their skills as cartoonists, designers, writers, editors, graphic artists and facilitators and counsellors to develop, test and use the ‘therapeutic artifacts’ that are created.
Beginning early in 2016 a number of exciting new materials will be published for use by practitioners in diverse human service roles.
Check this website regularly and especially the Metaphors Ink blog The Ink Pad for news about the materials under construction and all new releases.
